Formally know as Expression en Corto, I can only assume that due to the festival’s enormous international success that a rebranding has taken effect – hence the new name. That being said, the core people that run this gem are the same and this is no doubt why it has had the success it has had – now an ‘Oscar Qualifier.’ Simply put – this film festival rocks!
In 2007 True Colours played in competition and Neil Maskel took home the Best Actor in short award – a triumph it was. I went to the festival, saw these amazing colonial towns (Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende), met some great people whom I’m still in regular contact with, and of course, collected Neil’s trophy.
Fingers crossed a trophy comes by way of Alberick or Mónica. Lord knows, they certainly both deserve one!
