This was the second of the three Scotibank commercials.  After shooting the Sobrinos commercial in the first half of the day, we (crew) were all pretty tired by the time we got to this new location.  To give you an idea, we didn’t turn over the first shot until about 8 pm, and then had a few technical difficulties in the middle of this shoot, so in the end we didn’t wrap until about 2 am.  I slept like a rock.

So you know, the abuela (grandmother) in this commercial was a god send. Simply put: she was hysterically funny.  The highlight was when one of the assistants asked if she wanted a glass of water to which she responded: ‘no, just a cup a coffee to wash down my pills and a cigarette after.’  As you might imagine, we were rollin’ on the floor.

PS: in case you’re wondering what ‘aspiradora’ means…the answer is ‘vacuum.’
