At the same time that Alberick is working with me, he too has his own project. Not only is Alberick a great actor, but he is a writer and director of theatre himself. This particular piece he wrote and co-directed with his lovely wife Julia. Yo Rio Profundo follows one man’s life who is from the jungle of Peru which starts with his infancy.
We follow this character over the course of a lifetime – getting involved in drug trafficking, escaping to Lima, coming into his homosexuality, becoming an actor and moving to Germany and then eventually returning the the only place that ever gave him happiness when he was a child – the jungle. It is a very powerful, moving and portrayal – I didn’t walk away with a smile on my face except for the fact that Alberick – the main actor in my short – has got loads of SOUL!!!
